Forged In fire champion

I've been a fan of Forged in Fire since its inception in June of 2015. I never thought I would get the opportunity to do it until former Forged in Fire contestant, Jo Smith, encouraged me to go for it. Taking his advice, I applied and ultimately was chosen to compete on Season 8 Episode 12. It's one of the most difficult things I have done. Putting yourself out there in a competition is tough, but to do it in front of an international audience is almost unthinkable. Thankfully, I was able to rise to every challenge and became the Forged in Fire Champion, building the Pira that couldn't be broken.

Our Start

I started making knives with my Dad, David Wilson, in 2007. We took a knife making class from  an American Bladesmith Society master smith, Tom McGinnis, where he taught us the basics of bladesmithing and started us on this journey.

Starting a small business

During the class, I began the process of making my first knife. We got to the stage where you stamp your maker's mark or initials in your blade. My uncle, Dad’s younger brother Howard had passed a few years prior to us starting this journey, so I thought it would be neat to honor his memory and stamp his nickname, “JEHU,” on my knife. After the class, we kept making knives and adopted the name JEHU.  We have been making fixed blade knives along with fillet knives and have even started building folding knives.
